If I could make a few recommendations...100% water changes are too much for a tank this size. Try 50% to avoid shocking your fish. Always add conditioner before adding water because as soon as chlorinated water hits your tank the cycle can be killed. If you get a sponge filter don't rinse it in tap water, swish and squeeze in treated water (all decor and substrate as well). Also feces can easily get trapped in between those large pebbles, I'd personally get gravel or sand for ease of tank maintenance and water quality. Soaking pellets before feeding reduces the chance of bloat or constipation. Your plants might not do great because they need minerals and nutrients that the betta waste can't provide. Seachem root tabs are awesome as is H20 Plants Vital and Aquarium Co-ops Easy Green. Other than that awesome video and beautiful little koi betta!!!

Cmharper 50 i was just saying the minimum amount would be 2.5 gallons. Yes it’s better to have a 5 gallon and plus but they will do just fine in a 2.5

Bri Bri no you do your research betas live in Thailand and have a territory in large bodies of water that is 1 yard by 1 yard and are very active and like to search for food and guard there turf if you dont give them a space of a five or more gallon they are destined to have depression look it up

Nice video! :) I may had seen this wrong but did you use hand to scoop her out? If you did I would advise to get a fine net in future. You might drop or tear her lovely scales. Just my 2 cents :)

Just saying for two Beth's fish It's way better to keep them In a 10 gallon tank you should think of getting a bigger tank that would be way more appropriate for there size

Actually, that isn't true. Some bettas love the extra space, but many get very stressed out with it. A 2.5 gal is perfect, and there is no use in upgrading now if she just got this tank!

PetCo has semi-annual (I believe) "Dollar-Per-Gallon" sales. You could get a 20 gallon tank for $20 or a 40 gallon tank for $40.

I would recommend getting a filter for your fish is you don't have one. It'll allow you to establish a nitrogen cycle (look this up) and overall will be better for your fish . I would also recommend getting a gravel vaccum which will allow you to do 50% water changes every 2-3 days :) rather than 100% which can potentially be stressful. Beautiful betta though!!

Ammonia is more toxic at higher ph levels, so if you know your waters ph you can adjust the frequency of your water changes accordingly.

Wael Oman Vlogs erroneous as the beneficial bacteria doesn't reside in the water column. It lives on the surface of the aquarium and in the substrate.
