Cool. Did you get all these females at once? I initially had 4 females that were from the same spawn). After about 2 months, got 3 more (also appeared to be fry-mates), and seemed fine for a few days. Within two days they all died. It was a 10 gallon planted tank, with lots of hiding spots. I'm scared to try a sorority again

Hey, maybe you could use some otocinclus in your betta tanks so that there is less algey in the tank. My bettas in my sorority tank get along well with the two otocinclus I have.

What dose it mean when a male and female beta can stay close to each other and be sad if they are not with the other one? My betas are like best friends they never flare or get aggressive you can keep them in the same tank and they will be happy as long is the other is around. The only time I ever took them away from each other was when the female kept going on the males side of the tank getting past the divider

They might be super used to each other. I bet if you blocked their sight of each other for a few days and then took it away they would get excited and flare :)

Hey Taylor there is someone who deliberately has green algae tanks to feed tiny fry. He even has outside tubs as starter tubs to replenish the tanks inside.

I think sisters have a greater likelihood of living together! My females stay together all the way until adulthood and usually get along great

My betta has fin rot and only thing I can get right now is sea salt.Can I put 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt in my tank to help with fin rot? Will it kill my fish? PLZ HELP

Sofia N I don't know too much about sea salt. But doing water changes can help too, maybe 25-50%.
Fin rot tends to be from a water quality issue.

Good job on the upgrade! What are you going to do with the two liberated 10s? I'm guessing they won't remain empty long.

I'd put a couple of those nifty screw down cable ties around the power strip to make sure it can't fall off. The usual attachment for those power strips is unreliable.

mahesh - no. As a general rule male betas should always have their own space. Female betas can live together (look up "betta fish serority" or "betta serority tank" to find examples of set ups) but if they're the going to be comfortable then they need lots of space per fish and hidey spaces.

fish tanks don't have a whole lot of maintenance for one. I think I currently spend about 30minutes per week for my 125litres (33gallon) aquarium.
She just has a bunch of aquariums and doing everything manually can add up work.
