We went to a betta fish breeder shop in Vietnam! Well, it was actually his house!! This beats the petco bettas & petsmart bettas by far! The breeder shared with us how to breed betta fish & what to feed betta fish! We got two glass tanks and two betta fish for just 11 bucks! We ended up walking away with two betta fish by the time we left! Oops! :O We used google translate to communicate with this awesome betta breeder! He breeds only red/white/black/orange plakat betta fish or hmpk! :) These glass tanks for our betta fish are only temporary! We will be using a transhipper to ship our awesome betta fish home in 4 weeks! Yep 1 tablespoon per 5 per qal is good for gills and ick prevent, live plants don't like it, I go half that for my planted tanks

Hi what a great adventure!! So sorry one fish were sick I hope he didn’t die? Yes I do add 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt per every 5 gallons when I change my Bettas, also I will add salt when I’m getting new guppies it helps with the slime coat and from getting ick. I first freaked out about it too so I started using just half of the amount at first and then I realized it wasn’t doing any harm and my fish always look great so I did start doing the tablespoon per 5 gallons. But it has to be a salt with no iodine no table salt. People honestly just throw it in the water up at that kind of freaks me out when I tried that with my Koi & goldfish once tried to eat it in his face didn’t look like he enjoyed it. So I actually mix it and hour or two ahead in some hot water and let it cool so it will be completely dissolved. I have seen this on YouTube videos with salt & the hobby. A lot of people give their sick fish a salt bath

Low Light Aquatics Yeah when you get home just type in aquarium salt for freshwater fish and you should get lots of videos about it I know still like I said some people just throw handful and that freaks me out LOL have fun

Perfect! I will have to start trying salt out with my guppies too! .... Unfortunately the fish did die :( We tried everything possible. We lowered his water level a significant amount to allow for him to reach the surface easier to breathe & we tried different types of food! He just didn't want any of it and got weaker and weaker. Was a bummer but we bounced back! More to come on that soon!!
