What about incorporate two tabs at either side of the base, and slots in the end of the filter body, slots with a 'twist' lock action......

Thanks for the glue info Mark! I've ordered some Tensol and some of the Plastic Melt but I couldn't find the RS PRO stuff on ebay, so I'm still looking for that.
Next step is to get some acrylic offcuts... :)

Hi Mark! Luv your channel mate! I unfortunately dont have an acyrilic/glass cutter but was wondering if you could make & sell a few of those plastic cut cylinders so I can put together some awesome sponge filters for my tanks! I have two 40, one 30, one 10 and an 8 gallon tank so would need 4 different sized ones... Would you ship to Canada? How much would you charge for each cylinder w. shipping if its possible?

Sherrie Teller Hi. I'm going to be making more soon and putting them on my eBay page. I've only got limited stock of tubes as I get them from a recycling plant and never know what I'm getting. But as I get more I'll make more ok.

Damn, man - you've got all the gear and you put it to good use.
Near the end it looked like it had been snowing in your shed, lol
Groovy.

Secureteam10? Love all that shiz, the truth is out there! Interestingly Fluoride in our water leads to the calcification of the pineal gland, otherwise known as the third eye. This brain structure is depicted by the egyptian as the eye of Horus. It contains a lens and light-detecting receptors, yet isn't connected to the visual cortex. It is believed to release Dimethyltryptamine (DMT- an endogenous potent hallucinogen - also used by Shamen in their brew 'Ayahuasca') at both the moment of Birth and Death, including NDE's.
...But I digress lol! Again, amazing build, really look forward to your videos =]

I second (or third) that way of thinking - nothing is more frowned upon in our 'modern' society as developing our brains.
If ever there was a time for a good remake of John Carpenter's 'They Live' it is now.......

Great build Mark, I’m fascinated watching you work. Have you thought about evaporation on this “coffee-table” tank? It has a huge surface area. Can I pick your brains. Just got an 18”x12”x12” glass tank that is drilled. It has a 1.5” hole near the top. I’ve got a drain stop plug for it but it’s unsightly. I want to keep a breeding pair of rams or some endlers in there. Can you think of a creative solution for the hole? The tank was only £2 and is in great shape otherwise. Looking forward to Part 2 ... ⭐️⭐️⭐️

+Deanne Sherriff You could cut a glass plug with a tile hole cutter and silicone that in place.

You need a hoover for the router, when you’ve had the glue in the syringe do you have to clean it after each use

Well, fluoride is important topically and ingested for developing teeth in children and babies developing inside Mom. Babies born to moms on well water usually have rotten baby teeth. Then, the second set of teeth developing without fluoride are at risk to loss much sooner than kids ingesting it in drinking water. Most folks don’t realize the big health problems that rotten teeth can cause. The worst being heart infection and death. Yes, from teeth issues. I’m with you and your brother on aliens though. I’m not so arrogant to believe we’re alone in the universe. Over here in the US, hormones added to foods cause all sorts of issues we don’t talk about. Girls are reaching puberty at 8 over here. It’s awful!

You have to sell these filters. I’ve just bought a normal sponge, but I wanted a custom shape. Would love some thing like that but air driven. Like a giant box filter

MARK'S AQUATICS Hey Mark plzzz let us know when you have and pls. patent it right away! You deserve all the rights to YOUR invention! Would be a great way for you to make $ for the love of the hobby! I would certainly share these w/ my friends and aquatic club members here in Barrie, Ontario Canada! What an amazing invention from reg. sponge filters that use a frustratingly narrow (inner cylinder w. a stupid stem in the middle) so you cant even fit any needed bio-media! I gave up!

That's a good height really for beta. What you should do is put the filter in the center and find a good piece of cork bark to fit around it and have the water come out of that and have a centerpiece beta tank. At least that's what I would do with a tank like that.
It would be a grate talking point at least.

Hey Mark. i had an idea for use of those acrylic cylinders can you use them as a arched cover for an aquarium so you can grow floating plants that grow above water like Water Lettuce, Water Hyacinth and Water Sprite, as well as any other plants that might grow out of the water like ludwidgia or Irises and even have room for Water Lily flowers? I was thinking if you cut one of those large cylinders in half from the open side to the other open side it could create an arch that could be fitted to the dimensions of a tank either front to back or side to side. The light would have to hang or be mounted above the dome. Add some flat pieces to the open sides of the arched barrel shape and cut a door into the top to add food. What do you think? Is that something you'd want to try? For air line tubing you could drill a hole in the back corner the size of the tubing and fit it through and into the tank, might have to cut a small sized area out to fit the heater through or the plug which ever is smaller.
