I just got the 10 gallon size, only complaint is the filter creates a really strong current but I just did the water bottle thingy over top so its quieter and weaker.

I am pretty new to the fish community and I recently purchased this kit. Could anyone explain how you use the heater? Using the thermometer? Do you stick the thermometer inside and turn the switch on the heater until it matches to the temp you want? Pls help

Make sure that the thermometer is in the opposite side of the heater for it can give an accurate temperature

kitty bryn It depends what kind of fish you have for example goldfish dont need a heater they do well in cold water and warm water if you have fancy fish than you use the heater cause they usually need warm water leave the heater plugged in don't unplug it if you want your fish to be warm and healthy

kitty bryn Its easy you need to check the heater it has a little water level sign on top that's where the water level needs to be it's not safe to submerge the whole heater under water then you plug in the heater to warm the water, the thermometer is the easiest you put it in the middle of the tank inside it checks for the temperature of the water

I really recommend having petperks at petsmart because sometimes they have sales only if you have petperks, I saved 30$ when I bought everything for my 10g kit, it would've been 140$ but it came out to 112$.

I got their light for a 10 gallon and it makes the tank look so good. I have betta fish videos on my channel, including a tank tour, all of my fish houses/plants, basic betta fish care, mistakes I made when I first cared for bettas, how to clean a betta fish tank plus one more and I'd appreciate if you checked them out! +Beautiful BettaFish Most people agree on 2.5 gallons as the minimum. Some will say more though, and some will even say less. It's a personal decision, but the size I see recommended the most is 2.5 gallons or more.

I have a 20 gallon, I love it! I have penguin tetras, black neon tetras, glow light tetras and one very layed back veil tail male betta. It's so cute, he swims with my tetras.

+CharmingBettas As Raimer said, they got it from PetSmart! I also believe that is the only place you can get it- I think it was around $115 at our Petsmart, but they are occasionally on sale, and those are Canadian prices, which run a little higher than you may get it in the US. :)

+bettafriends254 I've used both in the 3 gallon tank, so either would work, but my bettas personally prefer the floating log- they seem to use it a lot more than the sinking one, but bettas do like to be near to surface, so it makes sense. :)

+marielephant1 I think I'll put a different type of fish in there :) I may attempt a betta sorority eventually, but it's a big challenge I'm not quite ready to take on yet! Now that I have a big enough tank for different fish I want to get some new fish, but when I have a few big tanks, then one of them may become a sorority :)

+roy marquez You definitely can, but I'll be putting a different type of fish in there :) You could have a single male betta, a community tank with a single male betta (if the tank mates are non-aggressive, and non flashy) or a female betta sorority.

+AnImal life I know quite a few other people on YouTube with that setup, it sounds great. The tank isn't too small at all. 2.5 gallons per betta is the accepted minimum among most fishkeeper's. Some people may think differently, but that is a personal decision. 2.5 is what most people agree on. I think your bettas will do great in that divided set up, just be 100% sure the divider fits perfectly to avoid any mishaps! :)

+Real Deal (RealDeal100) I don't find that at all! It doesn't make any noise except the sound of the water rushing out of it. The tank is actually pretty silent overall. I've heard some people's filters can make a rattling sound if they haven't secured the intake tube into the grooves properly, so if you are finding issues with the filter, my suggestion would be taking a look at the tube.
