Even this is small for her :( but thx for taking care of it unlike people who sell these poor thing . She would appreciate if you upgrade it to a larger aquarium .

I would try putting smaller fish which are not that colorful, so betta doesnt feel competetive. But still its a risk putting a male betta with another fish, I have ghost shrimp in my tank with betta, at first he use to chase them and my shrimp kept hidding but after a month both are friendly now. On the other hand you might keep the female bettas together, but introduce them in a 10 gallon tank as the same time, and keep an eye on them for few days if they get aggresive. Hope this helps!

Yes its better, but i use 5 gallon for my Betta and would recommend atleast 3 gallon but, whatever works for you, more room the better ;)

Kids shouldn't own bettas! You need a lid, heater, filter, and much more! Your tank is really small for a betta. They need a 3.5 gallon+. And using a net could severely injure your betta! Please research before you buy. Also you are not supposed to get rid of that much water, only about 25 or 50%, you need the good bacteria too!

Polly Dang u can do a small water change every week or a little more if ur doing it every other week but make sure to leave some of the old water unless the fish is sick

I don't understand why the betta community is so judgemental. Betta's are perfectly fine in a one gallon tank. When I was young I had one in a .5 gallon tank and it lived for three years. Y'all need to chill

They may survive in small tanks, but they will not thrive. If you get a pet you need to think about his comfort as well not just what works for you. Its not at all expensive to buy atleast a 1 gallon tank as a beginer . than ofcourse we can upgrade it, trust me bettas live in big long rice ponds in japan they swim miles and miles, they dont live in .5 gallon pot. No offense :)

You are wrong! You're suppose to do a 25% - 50% water change. If you do that, you can cause your fish to have stress and discomfort. It's all because of your fish not getting use to the new water.

you need a 5.5 gallon kit as it includes a light, filter and hood
you also need to get a 25-30 whatt heater.

you will want a place for him to hide and get 2-3 silk plants

May be a 100 people told you this but thats not a suitable way to clean up a tank, either the gallons for the betta fish and the adecuate filter or heater. For all novice in aquarism please remember the cycling proces and the beneficial bacteria you kill every time you do this kind of cleaning. Please aquire a vacum to vacum the gravel instead of do this way of cleaning the tank. best regards

Did you put conditioner in the water? If not your tap could have very bad stuff in it that can harm your fish. Also your should let the tanks filter and heater run for at least a day before you put him back in the tank so it won't cause an ammonia spike and kill him. And after that you should let him acclimate for at least an hour before you put him back in otherwise he could go into shock and die ( like you said don't make the water to different in temp. ) please do these things if you don't already, I would hate to see your pretty fish die because of these reasons.
