I would never use a scratch pad vinyl... All you need is some Spray Nine and a magic eraser.

Boat detailing can be done by yourself or better yet – by a professional. A lot of boat owners prefer to hire a professional to perform boat detailing for various reasons. One major reason would be it’s time consuming. Another good reason is that most boat resale value actually decreases because its owners don’t know how to properly care for it.

Mr Clean magic erasers work well for this as well. Really brightens vinyl upholstery as well as fiberglass.

You CANNOT let Super Degreaser dry on the surface, it must be rinsed off! This is stated right on the bottle. Come on man, really?

can i use car wash to wash a boat
Tomberland

Fred Solomon Yes you can. Boat shampoo is more expensive eventhough it contains the same stuff in the bottle than car shampoo. Only the picture on the bottle/can is different and the price.

I'm a real boat detailer and I share my best cleaning secret with you ! To clean fast and easy with no scrubbing , first pour straight muriatic acid , let it dry than hit the darkest stubborn dirt with a blow-torch ! If not happy with result call my cousin at 1800-rehupholster ! LOL ... I 'm joking , seriously !

What do you use afterwards to condition/protect the Vinyl especially from sun after you've cleaned it?

You are not supposed to let Super Degreaser dry on any surface. It must be rinsed off. It says this right on the bottle.

Good video for beginners, but you need to be careful next to any stitching when you use a brush. You can break the stitching or create little fuzzes. If anything sometimes little color can be pulled from the clean and bleed into the stitches.

hahaha :) Very true! Just for the amateurs that view this they should brush with care over. Love the Meg's APC though!

+John O'Connor Valid points, although some people enjoy that extra tickle those little fuzzes create.

Hi Darren

I think this is what Danielryan5. Is referring to.

http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?27028-How-to-properly-dilute-Meguiar-s-Detailer-Line-products

Perhaps this doesn't apply to you because you pre-mix your solution in large drums and therefore are able to fill your bottles to the top as opposed to pre-mixing directly into a bottle.

Hope this helps.

I checked this out; very informative and I stand corrected...mostly. I re-measured yet again and found the 32 ounce bottle is more like 33 ounces, and the fill line as described in this link is still incorrect by a slight margin.
The real point is that since it is a concentrate, it is not going to make or break your world if the dilution ratio is not precise.
According to the instructions, I myself have been doing it incorrectly but also know that since I vary my dilution ratios, it becomes a non-issue unless taken to an extreme.
Thanks for the link. I plan on doing a revised video on this dilution ratios with regards to the Meguiar's products.

I've always understood that you fill the bottle to just below the "ribbed" grip part for correct dilution ratio.

Check it out yourself in a separate measuring cup and report your findings back to us...
So by "correct" you mean 4:1 or do you mean 10:1 regarding the ribbed part of the bottle?
