However if you are single handed, reversing into an aft spring line is better as:
1. you dont need the tiller, just the power - lock your steering towards the left and walk to handle power and line. Your boat pivots nose out then
2. you can handle power and fender and line yourself at the back within a step range
3. you are not dependent on the wheel effect of your screw as you drive away fwd - and
4. you have immediate control at pulling away as your boat steering reacts faster to fwd power
Minus is that pivoting backwards you rboat is typically wider so you have to watch your back not scraping the wall. This requires more precision steering.
