I googled and searched youtube for a week trying to find information of how the M-hull Bayliner F18 rides in rough water but found nothing. I can't even find information on if the boat rides wet compared to other boats. NO-ONE can tell me the freeboard measurement of the F18 Bayliner without me driving an hour & a half and measuring it myself at the dealer. I had hopes of finding more info to help decide if its worth the drive to check it out further to maybe buy one. I gave up and instead going to pursue buying the Sportman Island Reef 19

Thank you! Wanting a new bass tracker and was wondering what the difference was between the flat bottom and v-hull version. Yes the ride in the v-hull will smoother but is displacement deeper and therefore I can't go in as shallow water with it?

Yes Dave, you basically have it right. All other factors being equal the flatter the bottom the less draft, but the bumpier (and often wetter) the ride. Also note that flatter bottoms tend to have better stability, again, all other things being equal.

I want to design a boat but don't know how to determine the cross section at each point along the length of the boat. I am automotive designer and engineer and will understand if you get technical. Please help. From my research of all cool boats and my requirements, I want to make the boat a Carolina type of hull.
