Great vid. Thanks for posting. Any thoughts about boatlife as an alternative? 5200 also comes in a quick cure (24hrs) as well

That tube of 5200 will be useless within a week of opening; hardened up. Unless you know the magic trick! I have year old opened tubes of 5200 still good, same with 4200.

I have used JB Weld to fill holes in a fuel tank.
That patch never failed.
Would that be an option?

Hi DW - There are a number of JB weld products, some of which the manufacturer does recommend for fiberglass. And in our experience JB Weld is great stuff for metal. But when it comes to below-the-waterline repairs we haven't tried it so the honest answer is, we don't know - but we're also not going to risk finding out!

why not use 4200. 5200 is permanent and hard to deal with. good luck ever getting those screws out again

Hi Scott - if this repair was above the waterline, we might agree. But beneath the waterline we want every bit of permanency we can get, and the 5200 has about double the strength of 4200. Plus, in the small amount being used here it won't be difficult to remove that screw. Even if it was, remember that 3M now sells Anti-bond 2015, which melts away the bond between 5200 and fiberglass (it takes a while, but this stuff works).
