GetMyBoat's Captain Dave shows us how to properly and easily tie a sheet bend knot. http://getmyboat.com/ The sheet bend is used to tie line of dissimilar diameter. First, make a loop with the larger line. Then bring the smaller line through the loop in the larger line and around the back. When coming back through the loop in the larger line, pull the smaller line underneath itself and above the thicker line. Then pull! As the knot tightens, it will strengthen. Remember that your sheet bend must have constant tension, otherwise it can come loose. Like all good knots, a sheet bend can easily come undone for quick release.
