Do not tie the boat off on a piling or run it through the base of the cleat. If tied off improperly, the dock crew will not be able to release the line easily. The boat in the video is tied to the cleat that is farthest away from the dock and the lines are crossed to allow for boat movement as the tide ebbs and flows after Hurricane Sandy.
