I think the energy deflection of the moving air (wind) momentum has a greater contribution to the boats propulsion than air foil theory. And I fly planes. Yes you can fly a plane with a wing with no airfoil, a windmill turns with flat blades and a brick can fly if it has enough power. Based on airfoil theory the lower surface between the leading and trailing edges should be straight to produce a high pressure area. A sail is not like a wing.

the bernouli principle has negligible effect on lift generation of an air foil (or water foil for that matter), it's annoying that this falsehood keeps getting propogatted.

OK Job. :19 Air speeding up on top of the wing creates low pressure :24 Air moving very fast below the wing creates a high pressure I think we know what you mean but you could just quote Bernoulli's principle. The words you used were confusing.
