Oh might be worth doing all the pre check whilst in the "preparation area", this way your not blocking the ramp as depicted in this video.

Just watch launching a boat with someone in it . A police officer pulled me up saying that the boat ramp is classed as a public road thus a passenger must wear a seat belt.
I said my 2.5tonne boat is impossible to launch without a driver. He politely said ... I don't care if it's the QE2 no seat belt no launching with a passenger.
only way is ... car and trailer must be stationary then driver climb aboard then launch without moving the car.
