If that doesn't work you can place it upside down for a while as others have said. However be sure to let it set right side up (normal) for about 24hrs after or it could damage the unit as all the oils and stuff will need to settle again.
Basically these tricks help to dislodge amonia crystals which can develop over time. Unfortunately the trick is sometimes only temporary as said crystals are still in there and could reclog stuff.
