Just saying this guy is a bit of an idiot, The number one thing he did was totally wrong.. Never run the motor with high power near the boat ramp!

Works just fine with my Pathfinder. I have seen smaller cars at the ramp. 4 wheel drive helps as as long as your car supports the towing capacity of your boat and trailer you will be fine.

you should have said put the drain plug in and test start the motor before takeing off the trailer too.

First things first learn how to install the safety chains properly. Much shorter and cross them so if the hitch cones loose they support the tongue.

Another thing you may add to boat launching . . I drove truck for 20 yrs. and took trainees with me. One good thing to add while backing is, "get out and look"

I like your videos, but I have a couple of problems with them 1) I always see ppl demo how to launch and recover bigger boats not just a small 14 foot fishing boat. 2) where I launch it states NO power loading. I would like to see a solo load not using any power to get the boat on the trailer. Thx for the videos they help Joe Luckhardt

Yes, power loading prop wash displaces ramp bottom (if not concrete) and will make a hole and berm. The skill of using a bowline long enough to push the boat off from beaching, past the end of the trailer, and pulling the boat onto the trailer with the bowline (even in wind with practice), close enough to walk down the trailer and attach the winch line, all without getting your feet wet, is an old school art form.
