I helped them with converting Ohio Fish Rescue's 58,000 gallon pool into a pond for monster fish. It was so cool to work with such a professional team and watch them convert a pool into a pond that looks nothing like a pool anymore! How fast they work is another mind blowing thing about them. Yeah he's been in there for over a year and is my most active fish and one of the biggest eaters. I hear different opinions about it but through my experience there's been 0 issues.

Quick question. I see a lot of sand mixed with the gravel. Does that affect the filter performance in any way? Or is it ideal to have the gravel sand-free?

With Rich's filter sand would eventually clog up, but in our aquariums they'll be fine. I misread the question, sorry.

Not these bass, I've had these for a few months. Now I do have some juveniles in another tank. I haven't had any issues with water changes though.
