I didn't see any answer or reply to GeorgeElliasVideos' question which is my question as well. I went out during some rough conditions on some 6 foot waves & got demolished/worked to the point of reluctance to even attempt to catch the nose-diving, pearl-jam-inducing, turbulent, choppy waves with no clear breaking section or surfer-friendly form! Can you please give us some insight on how to pull into such waves?

+TheSilverSurfisher Sounds like it could be a combination of things, wave selection - Paddling - popup - reading the wave. Without seeing what you are doing in what conditions it's hard to troubleshoot. Film a vid of yourself and would be happy to take a look.

How do you ride at a beach that has waves that close out in different sections. For example. there is like a fifteen foot section of unbroken wave between one peak and the other peak on the same wave.

Ive been surfing for more than 10 years iam 6'2" tall, i used a 6'2 shortboard for a while it was fun but had to be pacient to get a pitching wave and ride. Iam about to use one again but a bit smaller. Iam 38 yours old, quite heavy but i only own the shortboard its about 5 '11". What do you recommend ?

Great video! Had to laugh as when I started with my '62 Tiki surfboard angle take offs were the only way I could get it down the line! Couldn't get that thing to turn any other way.

+grahamjarman Nose diving can happen at any time on the wave. Pearling is primarily on take off usually related to a late drop, although you can also pearl coming off of a top turn dropping back down the wave

+Thalia Broadstock Definitely is possible...remember to always look at the width and thickness in addition to length...a wider, thicker board will have more volume, and when we are learning, more volume means extra stability and ability to catch waves!

+Ben Tal Thats called SurfSet fitness...it can easily be found on google...they are primarily used in gyms for surfing related fitness training, but we use ours strictly for surf training, and they are awesome!

Excellent video - Love your guys' stuff and it has helped me tremendously! I would love for you guys to tackle your approach in progressing to bigger waves. This could be at every level, as for me, 5-6ft waves seem real big and I definitely get a little scared getting out there in that type of swell. Any tips mentally, physically regarding how you guys progress to surfing bigger waves? Thanks!

I've found the only way I can make it happen going backside is if I grab the rail & pull left at first, it makes me feel cool, but I'm sure I look like a kook on these 2 foot waves out here. I'll try actively putting more pressure on my left side, never really thought about it directly before
