Nice video and tank! I was wondering if you could let me know how many corydoras can fit in a 20 gallon with a dwarf flame gourmai and 6 small white cloud minnows.
megasuchy

emc hazard gaming I wrote it already somewhere in the topic. take every 1cm(0,39 in) fish lenght =1 liter(0,26 gal) This is my ratio.

What do you feed them? I haven't had very good luck keeping these specific type of Cory and I think I'm being silly to think the wardley shrimp pellets are causing them to die. My juli Cory eats them just fine and also a veggie wafer at night. Any tips on food?

They use to eat dry flakes, tablets,or special catfish food made by a lot of producers specialized in fish food. You can experiment with food and make your own conclusion about it.

Nah, these fish are more related to catfish. The one you're thinking about are loach. Some loach have retractable spines near their eyeball.

I have a 47 litre tank with 8 black phantoms and a male Betta. How many of any could i put in ? :)
megasuchy
megasuchy - 10 years ago
How big your phantoms are?. Take the Ratio 1cm of lenght=1 liter(I prefer 1,5-2 liters). I will assume that your phantoms are 3,5-4 cm of the full lenght so 8 fishes will give you some about 28-32 cm amount. This is 28-32 liters plus Betta, about 4cm?=4 liters. This will be 32-36 liters for your fishes and if you want to add some corys you will have 11-15 liters of free space. You can let in 4 corys but in my opinion you shouldn't do this. But If you still need them try to invest for a bigger tank.
HiSuue

ive had my corys for 3 weeks now they still shy and hide at the back of the tank, but my golden barbs and tetras are very friendly and greet me for feeding time, is this a common thing?
megasuchy
megasuchy - 10 years ago
They are usually overmodest, you have to treat them with calm. Try to not scare them so much. A lot of hideouts and plants will make them more brave.

In the past I never had luck with corys. I was only keeping one at a time in a tank with gravel and using treated tap water. WRONG! Now I use reverse-osmosis filtered water, well aerated, with a sand bottom. And I keep a group of them.

@rissatish It was singapore moss on litle lava stones.Sand is highly recommend by me.I Use it all the time and if you wish to have some grassy plants like Vallisneria, small leafs Echinodorus,Eleocharis sp.,lilaeopsiss etc. sand will be perfect. It's not hard to keep it clean, just use snails like melanoides tuberculata and the problem is solved.

@JinGsPage They prefer warm water, optimum 24-27 degrees celsius. So better take care of that in the fastest way and buy a heater :) Interesting detail - in the corys spawning season they like to breed in colder water, about 22 degrees celsius.
megasuchy

@sprayart94 It will be ok.
megasuchy

@sprayart94 They are totaly harmless and you can keep them with other corydoras sp. and also different kind of fishes. But remember to do not combine corydoras with big or predacious fishes.
