Im not sure whats going on but my corydoras really haven't done anything since ive introduced them to the tank, I have 2 bronze and 2 spotted. All of them just found the one corner of the tank and lay there, havent sifted through the gravel once! and there is plenty of material for them to pick up as well. Any advice to help kickstart these guys?

They should be in groups of 6 or more of each kind. so you'd want 6 bronze and 6 spotted. etc.

I have kept a cory with cotton mouth for over a month in my quarantene tank. I have treated him with everything: EM, Ich X, General cure, Paraguard, Parashield. I even tried a salt dip, which I guess is not recomended. He's still alive, but has fungus patches and mouth seems deformed. Also getting smaller as fins seem to be getting shorter. I guess I should cull him, but I hate to do that. I change the water regularly, oxigenate, etc. He has been in the quarantine longer than any other fish. Any ideas before I pull the plug?

Doodle Doodle Nope I was considering a beta, but I only have a petsmart in my area and all of their betas look so unhealthy. I'm kinda torn between wanting to 'rescue' one and not wanting to support their practices at all. The tetras are a good idea too! I never considered going with just them, but maybe I will. My dad has a school going in his 30 gallon with some other smaller fish. They're always fun to watch.
Doodle Doodle Nope
Doodle Doodle Nope - 7 years ago
A 5 or 10 gal would make a great home for a single betta, which are pretty easy to care for and really enjoyable in looks and personality. You can have a lot of fun with a betta tank! If you want multiple fish I would get a 10 gal and about 5 tiny schooling fish, like neon tetras or ember tetras, and a few shrimp. Both are super easy to care for and together they make a lively, interesting setup :)

+kumarashokgak I recommend easy green. Flourish excel is more of an algaeside. Easy green can be found on our website. I'd dose it at half strength

Okay, What do you suggest ? Flourish Excel ? or any kind ? because I have only JavaFerns and Anubias nana with a bare bottom in African cichlids...

Aquarium Co-Op - 7 years ago
+kumarashokgak your plants probably are lacking nutrients and there is a high probability of corydoras getting bullied by africans

No Fertilizers used. I have them for about 4-5 months.

Corydoras are incompatible is it ?
Aquarium Co-Op
Aquarium Co-Op - 7 years ago
+kumarashokgak are you fertilizing your tank? How long have you had them? They are slow growers. As for loaches most of the larger loaches can work, clowns, yoyos etc

Great video again Cory!
I love the Top 5 series Cory!
And I love Corydoras!!
WOW you even have a Aquarium Co-Op decoration in a tank at the store! haha!
I went to a LFS today and bought new fish, Ameca Splendens and some other.
When I came home I saw that the Ameca Splendens died and all the other fish were doing great! So I called the store and next time I get new ones.
Do you have Ameca Splendens too? What do you think of them? Easy to breed?
I would like to here other peoples experience too!
Keep up the good work and thumbs up!

I got to try shrimp. I have lots of Synodontis petricola for some reason they breed like crazy in my 90 gal. They are a awesome fish and do swim like sharks. I was in Petland the other day and was kind of shocked they sell the synos for $ 45.00 each @ 1" in size. I was told to breed Shrimp you need salt water, is this true?

I totally agree with your last statement about only getting fish that you want to keep. I love my clown pleco even though he just hides in his cave all day and comes out during the wee hours of the night to scavenge. I think it's mostly a matter of my respect of him and that I enjoy watching him find and steal the wafers when I drop them in (usually for only a little while).

My angels tank has a sand substrate (I use river sand)...I keep corydoras with them and the corys love sand...tank is planted but all the plants are the sort you attach to wood and rocks like java fern and anubias.
