I've seen so much discus tanks without plants sometimes even without gravel... I don't like it but i think many breeding pairs are fine with that situation...

wow that's different..,not seen them that colour before! I've not kept discus but have kept (bred) cichlids and can say even in a happy home parents always get stressed out if they were really upset they wouldn't look after the young

they should have provided some more vegetation. The pair looks stressed out, of course they are raising fry but more plants would definitely have helped them out.
