Could I keep discus with neon tetras and other small fish?

As long as its not too small, adult neon tetra could work but babies may be at risk...my discus used to hunt my baby platy

If you spend 1000 for a tank with equipment, why not 200 more for the main thing of the aquarium?

This was a great video dw their are alot of misconceptions surrounding discus and you highlighted some really good questions .... I'd love to have discus but they scare me hahaha I think that I have been scared because of other discus keepers who have terrified me with their stories ...

Off topic question. Do you think it would be better to water change your way through a mini cycle, or just leave it fish and all and let it do its thing? 55 gal, planted, 30 male guppies, 3 rubber lip Pleco's, 2 L333 tiger Pleco's, 1 red tail shark and 1 beta . Been running for over 2 years

Hmmm...that's a risky situation. Doing water changes through out the cycle should help prevent death...but it will also may backfire and make it take longer to finish. What triggered it?

What temperature are you keeping the tanks with discus inside them at?

You won't be able to get another group of fish with that shape of discus, but for color you have multiple types of killifish, gourami, rainbow fish, and dwarf cichlids like apisto's and rams

i agree that we've priced alot of people out of the discus market, but hey supply and demand. I guess there really are people who will spend $400 on one jumbo... just not this person lol. great vid man, as always ✌

the only thing i think you forgot to mention is stunting, if there water parameters go outta wack they can stunt and look more football shaped oppossed to tall but i agree 100% i dont think discus are worth the high price at all! awesome fish but over priced

another great video! to touch on pricing, tho I personally have no interest or plan to ever to keep discus I'd prefer they stay higher priced to keep them out of big box stores, and inexperienced aquarist....a pet store I frequent had a bunch of my personal favorite (arrowana) fairly cheap and I watched more than a few ppl come in and buy em because they were cute not knowing exactly what they have just committed to
