I had a 3D background years ago, it looked great the first month. Three months later it was covered with ugly algae everywhere. It was impossible to remove the algae. The 3D background occupied a lot of space in the tank. 4 months later I trashed the background. Be Aware: These 3D backgrounds are algae magnets.
from philippines
1) Anubias Coffeefolia. (biggest of anubias I have ever kept. Tie 'em close to the main tree)
2)Echinodorus cordifolius 'Fluitans' (You are gonna love this.. Fast and large growing, but you need some gravel/ sand to fix it to the ground)
3) Vallisneria americana 'Gigantea'
4)Aponogeton boivinianus (can grow more than 2 ft tall and is easy to grow. )
5) Java fern Trident
You probably won't see this message but what about a small floating island planted with vines and roots coming underneath? It could be centered or free floating :)
My only concern is:
The Arowana are big fish, would they not knock the pieces of logs that are not glued in place? And what if the piece that fills in that void ends up being knocked out of place the Arowana may still end up behind and if they die back there you would not see them, then how would you be able to take them out without having to rip of the awesome background?
The idea of the jungle Vallisneria is great, yet if I think of any other types you could use I will be sure to tell you.
Anyway, that was a cool video, and I really cannot fault anything, well done Joey. And thank you for sharing. I enjoyed watching that. :)
Im so damn excited to see d complete rescape ....
Mabye i should already know
Just watched the whole video. I know it all now haha
Its sort of a shame that you used white pond shield on the tank.. I think that Dark gray or even black would have looked so much better with that background..
Anubias gigantea may also be a good choice, maybe also some amazon swords - with root tabs? Maybe some of the larger crypts (balansae?) and some aponogeton?

(I've been a long time subscriber and have loved every vid I've seen)
So I'm upgrading my Tanganyika 50gal tank to a 75gal tank, but gonna use the same stand ( home made and made for a 75 couple months ago because I knew I was gonna upgrade soon ) what would you guys do ? Is keeping the max amount of old tank water and same rock, filter, substrate gonna be ok to just put them right after ? Because I can't keep them for ever in the small 30gal tote that they're gonna be during the switch ( or can I ? )
Thanks alot !

Water lillies could also look great coming out of there and all the way to the top!
Continues to push their products and information about their company....
Design is awesome. Like it so much!
In regards to other plants, perhaps some Anubis? Slow growing but hardy, and as you know they look nice too :)
Bigger than my child's room :-O
if you were stocking smaller fish it would be awesome, but with the size of fish you want to keep, and the fact that you want to add more into the tank, i feel like you've given up a lot of space.
1) lotus plants (Nelumbium Nucifera)
2) Vallisneri Gigantea (bulbiform rhizome) Height: 0.9 to 2 meters; leaf width: 20 to 35 mm
3) Syngonium Albolineatum
4) Cryptocoryne Tonkinensis (sometimes misrepresented as C. retrospiralis)
OH MY GOSHNESS
WOOOOOOOOWWW
second.. this guy has been keeping rays for like a decade ... he probably knows what he's doing
I guess that means you guys did a good job!
Edit: Just finished the vid and didn't see that he suggested jungle val already lol!
but why do you keep saying "Asian Arowana" ? just say Arowana. We get it .
I would never use it even more with such expensive fishes.
Crinum thaianum is an excellent plant for the aquarium. Crinum thaianum, more commonly know as onion plant, grows in rivers and streams in Southeast Asia. The large bulb on Crinum thaianum helps it to store energy through the dry spells. Crinum thaianum is best used in the mid or background areas of the aquarium. Large white flowers adorn Crinum thaianum when it is low water or emmersed. Crinum thaianum is a great aquarium plant for beginners because of its ability to live in a variety of different conditions.
I'm sure you you know much more than the guy who takes care of more than 2,500 gallons of water every day.
like rays and sharks?
I would put a couple of the vertical logs in the middle to increase swim space for the rays. If 1 was placed between the roots and you planted the base, then the plants could climb up the branch. It would look amazing.
Edit: I just realized that the rays are going to be in there
It would flow nicly with the circulation!
