What substrate you have in the tank? Do you use a co2 system? I'm in the beginning stage of setting up a 55 gallon and would like any advice you can give.

Although I love a music video to show off a beautiful tank. I would like a verbal walk around the tank. Maybe a music intro and then verbal about what is inside the tank.

Discus have been accommodate to this kind of PH since they born. Also I was performing daily water changes, about 25%.

nice looking tank, plants and fish look very healthy. I would not call it a low-tech tank if you are adding CO2 and ferts. Your lights look also quite high.

Actually I don't have this setup anymore, I changed for a bigger tank 85 gallons Osaka. I use the same specs but this time I went with Tetras and barbs. I will post updates soon =).

Wont go over 6 discus, normally we always end up by adding more fishes like tetras etc XD

Depending on this size of your discus, but once they reach a bigger size you will need to do a lot of water changes or they might get stunned. Honestly 4 discus for a 55 gallons is fair enough. with few tetras

i have a few questions to ask you, is this a good size for about 5-6 discus? I heard alot of people say that 55 gal is too crowded but i saw this video and it persuaded me otherwise. also, is this a good habitat for discus and what do you feed them?

@lincia123 Using Co2 will ask a good balance of nutrients, light etc. as I like to keep water quality free of chemicals. I only add some Flourish weekly or so
