About 27 to 30° through the year. No need for a heater on this tank. I use big fans to cool the water in the summer

They are Geophagus winemilleri. 10 of them. Atleast 2 pairs of them. They dig huge pits for courtship and get brightly coloured when breeding. They retired to their sleeping spots during this video

Those are Garra sp. Have 6 of them in my tank. Very good algae eaters but there territorial. They do good in big tanks

Sand is the easiest substrate to maintain. Low maintenance. Debris can only stay on the top and nothing seeps into the substrate. If you have enough flow in the tank all the debris will get pushed to the filter and not settle on the sand

STR33TSofJUST1C3 both discus and Geophagus are South American fish and are from similar waters and prefer similar parameters. Geophagus are much hardier and can adapt easily to a wide range of parameters

Awesome tank buddy. How do you manage the plants? The water is extra chlorinated in summer months in India . Is it jz enough to hold the water for a couple of days? Cos I can still smell chlorine after 4 days. Do you measure chlorine levels?

i do 50% water changes once or twice a week now that the discus have grown out. i did daily and alternate day changes for the first year. For adult discus a weekly water change is good enough

You have to replenish over 100 gallons just to do a water change.

tap water is chlorinated here too. if you could store the tap water in some container overnight most of the chlorine will evaporate. my tap water gets stored in a big overhead tank on the roof (to be used for the entire house) so i don't have issues

The plants used are able to grow attached to the wood. They get their nutrients from the water and anything that's decayed on the wood.
