Blue Diamond, i do not vacuum up food at all. I use a discus feeder so no food gets to the botton. I only feed bloodworms.

Hi, what are the names of your blue discus? Also, do you have to vacuum up uneaten food with the plants being in there? If so, how difficult is it? I've been wanting to plant sagitaria all over my tank for my discus, and I'm glad I found this video :)

oh.. make sure you get a 6500K bulb or 6700k bulb.

I believe in weekly 30 % water changes. The plants gets the additional nutrients from the water changes.

Paul I think my success are due to the following. You have to get a very good substrate. I only use ADA Amazonian aqua soil. You can't grow plants in poor nutrient soil. Also selected low to medium light plants. High intensity light plants will require Co2, i don't have a CO2 system. The light is just 2 power compact florencesne bulbs 42watts screw type. They are attached to two cheap Office Depot Desk lamps. The filter is an Eheim 2217. Finally, i do not dose any additional fertilizer.

WOW! I've tried a planted aquarium and had no success. I invested in a Co2 sytem and lighting and for some reason I had no success. I also had penguin bio filters for their soft water return so as not to disturb the plants too much. So what's your secret? What kind of filter, lighting, airation ect do you use. Do you use any Co2?

The grass like plant is Saggitaria Subulata. The other fish are two clown loaches and about 25 cardinal tetras. Thank everyone for the kind words. Oh, yea Vanpire Dairies is the Wife. She watches that crap.

thanks for all the comments guys....The grass plant in the fore ground is called Saggitaria Subulata (Narrow Leaf) --my grass also below is the list of my other plants ..........
