Hi Mark, My water tap in Bristol comes out at 350 TDS :| , my Cherry shrimp flourish, no problems, community tank is full of them (240 L), but their "dedicated" tank not so many at all (30L), I have maybe 5-6 in the tank, don't know why honestly, all 4 of my tanks are full of plants and are healthy, wood in all, moss balls ...can you recommend another type of shrimp like Cherry that I could have and live with my Cherry and community fish ? Tried the bumble bee ones , but they died in a few days ... Thank you !

Hi Gaby. You have lots of choice, blue velvet , yellow sakura's, pumpkins . If you google neocaridina shrimp species you will get the list. If you mix them tho they will hybridize and you'll get all different colours coming out.If you don't mind that go for it! Caridina species need buffered substrate and a tds of around 150 . Well that's what i keep mine at.

The shrimp trap definitely would be a great design if it was wrapped in water-safe twine or mesh of some sort.

Yes the little mountaineers have joined the landscape he'he, looks great matey. Like you don't approve of culling, there's no need for it, I don't care how my baby shrimps turn out as long their happy and healthy. Great design for you're shrimp trap

it's all go in the big tank now. Typical shrimp disappearing. ours go missing for days freaking us out, looks real good now mark I can't get over how well the plants are doing.. love the video thank you.

I also make all the food for the shrimps. I learned that they also go totaly crazy on the next recipe: Peas, cauliflower, carrots and some boiled chicken liver. Put it in the blender and mix the puree with gelatine. My cherryshrimp and crystals go crazy over it. I make little squares from it and put that in the freezer. I feed my shrimp something else everyday so they get all the vitamins en nutrients that they need.

That tank you put the shrimp in, it's only 6" wide! Looks much wider! I think I do have my name in for the round tank you made, that would be a great nano tank for Shrimp wouldn't it? Would love to win it....we'll see then! Going to have to go back and see you making this big one, always loved it!

I absolutely love that you don't select, I don't do it either. A life is a life, even though the colour isn't the best. I started my tank with 13 discarded shrimps, and now I have a lot in funky colours and patterns and I absolutely love them all.

I can imagine big Aquarium companies watching and hastily writing down your different designs because let's face it, this and the tanks they are genius! If you do decide to make and sell tanks please put me on your waiting list, that goes for your superb shrimp too! (if you do sell them in summer). :)
