All the fish in the there including the discus and Geophagus were bought at about 1.5" and grown in this same tank. They'll be much cheaper at this size. But they require daily water changes. If you can put in the time and effort then you can buy a group of juvenile discus and raise them yourself into beasts. Try reading about it on forum.simplydiscus.com

Even with massive water changes and presumably a huge sump, when fish density is as great as this, it stresses the animals unnecessarily. It also doesn't make the display as striking as less crowded aquariums. It's a pity because were it not for the cluttered aspect, this is a great tank!

These geos dont eat Harlequins and rummynose. They ate bloodfin tetra tho when I tried them

I have several fish from the Amazon between Rodostomus, Mato Grosso, Rosáceos and Coridoras. I like how they swim in shoals.

The small fish keep getting sucked into my sump filter eventually. Some end up alive in the sump but most die in the filter media. I lose about a 100 or more per year

Are the water changes what's keeping your water extra clear with the driftwood in there? Any tips you have would be so helpful. Amazing aquarium. I'm sure you get that a lot =]

Thank you ☺ I do 50% water changes once or twice a week. any driftwood leaches tannins only for the first few months. You are good after that

I have a 120 gallon sump for filtration.
when the discus were young at 1.5" i did 50% water changes almost every day for the first 2 months. then on alternate days for about 6 months. now i do 50% water changes twice a week.
