Well the discus WERE bouncing back. But as you'll see tomorrow, Today I found the air was off in the tank and killed 4 of 7. the last 3 look bad from the ammonia spike. As I explain in the video, I'm not sure if it was just last night or for a couple days while prepping for the storm. As I was doing that instead of working in the fish room. Either way it sucks and now I'm pretty much heartbroken on that group of discus :(

Yes, product placement is #1. #2 is how many store employees like the fish? If store employees like a fish they'll naturally sell it more.

true. lol but they are just simply astounding once they get established. I mean, german rams and gold rams sell out weekly. lol sadly kribs dont sell often. they sold like crazy when they were in the middle section tanks at the store i work at. but since they moved them to lower section tanks, they stopped selling. placement of product is important. :D

we also have rain comming, but its needed. cooling down quit a bit. just hope my fish in my summer tubs will be ok...

I wouldn't feed it today, let it get acclimated to it's tank. Then I'd offer it small amounts of food tomorrow. As much food as the size of their eyes if it's a smaller fish, so maybe a couple of small to medium sized pellets.

I feel for you my friend....We just went thru Matthew last couple of weeks... I had to switch battery operated air pumps on 6 tanks for over 12 hrs. not fun but it saved my fish. Prayer works.

Ooohhh yes, I have forgotten to check before too... it's like the power goes on you let out that sigh of relief... go check your lights, filters, heaters, air stones, fish and water parameters... do a little quick water change... and you think you are good... until the next day when something isn't working or something is dead or looking bad and you realize that you have to reset most of you systems and timers... priceless. Lol. Well wishes to you...

Everyone survived....I just didn't feed for 24 hrs. Also I noticed some deficiencies on my swords and just found out yesterday my CO2 solenoid for some reason never came back on line after power was restored. Bottom line is.... after power outage, one needs to make sure everything is working fine. thanks for the well wishes.

wow. 6 hours on air pumps and all that tank monitoring sound like nightmare. I'm in the Midwest and have been hearing the storm reports... no storms have developed off of Mathew, for this part if the county, a lot of times we do get the residual storms off the rockies afterwards. ... we will see ...
Good luck with getting your tanks and systems back on track and stable... At least you had no fish die... that's awesome.

Every year in july my group of friends and family do a week long camping trip and we make campfire tacos to die for. Roast the baby pigs in the ground all day then the rest is easy peezy. Lol

Keep these coming man, Quick couple of questions, Subject of Plants, my banana plant stems all went REALLY soft, and fell off. What deficiencies cause this to happen? They kind of just suddenly, overnight, became super soft and flimsy (Almost like a Jelly kind of consistency) and just fell off completely. I've had this happen once before, but it's rare. Also, I sent an inquiry about other plants, on the contact page on your site, I look forward to hearing back on that as well :) Thanks Corey!

+Aquarium Co-Op Yeah it reads nothing every time I test.But lots of my plants do really well. Just once in a while, one of my many plants decides to suicide all it's stems / leaves. But they come back.

No, I mean nitrate, what are your nitrates. If it's reading 0 you're starving your plants to death. The only thing that is supply nitrogen is your flourish which is very light in nitrogen.

+Aquarium Co-Op I'm also assuming Nitrites. It's always reading none, I do about a 30% watch change a week and have a low fish load at the moment. I'm starting to cut back, and i'll go back to that schedule when I get more fish.

I'm using Iron, Potassium, and Flourish. (all seachem) Flourish once a week, and the others twice a week. and No it wasn't planted very deep at all, but I did have it in an elevated pot suction cupped on the side of the tank. Maybe light overdose? I've since let it fall to the bottom. I wanted to let the leaves grow above water, since i hear they bloom.
