When you spend 6 days out on a boat in the Amazon collecting fish, you get to know people pretty well. Mike is also one bad dude, I watched him hike through some hard assjungle to get some fish. An interesting person.
I do have a question though.. I see in a lot of his tanks, some pretty crazy algae going on. Is that a normality? Because in my two ten gallon tanks, ive never had a problem with algae. But I recently bought a used 50 gallon tank. I only paid $20 for it and all of the stuff for it. But the people who had it literally let it run in they're living room for 8 months without touching it once. Not so much as even opening the lid. And it was horrible when I got it. So I cleaned it up almost spotless, except for in the corners, there is algae that has gotten up under the silicone, and for fear of causing a leak I left it. Well I think it is gonna become a problem because I haven't had it running for a week yet and it looks to already be spreading. Do you think id be better off re siliconing it, or is the algae behind there better left untouched? Thanks look forward to your opinion.
But about my question, I'm definitely gonna try bleach in the corners. I just didnt know if I could the first time, where the algae had actually got underneath the silicone to where I can't scrub it out. So I'll get on trying that tomorrow.
