Ive become used to the brown algae. I just do regular maintenance and reduce light time and it diminishes. I personally don't mind it though.. I kinda like the way it gives a mature look to the Mbuna tank. Fortunately the South American tank doesn't grow it. Possibly because of less intense lighting, or the pleco might be working overtime at night ?

Get yourself a red taile shark they live well with african cichids (haps) and eat brown algae. I have one and never get any tipe of algae. Good vid Thanks.

Add a dose of Seachem Flourish Excel and it will wipe out any type of algae. Black hair algae all sorts of types. I usually mix half a bottle of that with hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle and just spray it everywhere u see it and the next day it will be gone or purple meaning dying. I’ve done this with a couple of my tanks works like a charm every single time

My fry tank gets diatom algae because of the lighting is not bright enough but i just wipe it off when i do my water changes. My main tank hasn't got any algae because its new .

Hey dude, great video. Very informative! I guess I have been pretty lucky during the last 6 months plus not having an issue with it. I do keep the intensity of my lighting turned down and color enhanced, but that’s how I like it. I also keep my glass clean with myFlipper and practice good aquarium husbandry. I don’t use any chemicals, but I do have an algae scrubber.
