Also check out the golden nugget pleco, its very nice looking fish that will go nice with your discus, and they wont grow more than 8" but the are hard to keep, much nicer than a standard pleco or bristle nosed pleco though. there about £20 mine died after a week though couldn't get it to eat! :(

you deffo need to run a airstone because, while your lights are turned on your plants will absorb co2 and release oxygen, but while lights are off the plants release co2, this with your co2 running would probably suffocate your fish, as its home made co2 you probably cant shut it off, but if you can you should turn off when lights are off as you'll be getting no benifit from it. but if not as soon as lights go out get the airstone going, i just leave my airstone running 24hrs anyway.

two things i would suggest are getting some bottom feeding fish like corydoras or bristlenose catfish these are the two most suitable fish to go with discus. Secondly i would recommend using a net and creating a current which brings the food upwards then net it up hope this advice helps you and please subscribe i will be uploading some more videos in the near future

Nice tank mate. I have just set up a discus tank not too dissimilar to yours but on a smaller scale of 200 litres. Already thinking of upsizing by the end of the year though. I have a problem with over feeding because a lot of mine are juveniles so I have to feed 4 times a day and usually find myself doing a bucket water change most evenings. Have noticed a build up of microscopic little white worms on the glass though which is apparently from overcrowding so I'm in a no win situation! Any idea
