DIY feeding system/contraption for Discus in a planted aquarium tank

The first part of the video is a quick scan of my planted aquarium. I then zoom in on one of the feeders that I made. It is a inverted plastic drinking water bottle with the bottom cut out of it attached to A piece of 25/34 mm Eheim intake tubing. At the bottom of it is Craftwork knitting mesh that is folded into a cone and fixated to the tubing with small zip ties. Video then continues to the other side of the tank that displays my other feeder that is basically like the other without the Eheim tubing and instead of the craft mesh, I used a small cone feeder I purchased off of Amazon. I drop prepared frozen food into it every night (Hikari Bio-pure frozen blood worms) as well as have TetraColor Tropical Granules dispensed into it twice a day from an EHEIM Everyday Fish Feeder Programmable Automatic Food Dispenser. I created the system with the Eheim tubing because the smaller discus did not like to feed towards the top. Allowing the food to travel to the bottom helped me solve its finicky feeding problem. Of note, that discus died around 2 months after I got it. I wonder if it's because it was stressed because the bigger discus kept fighting it for food, because it was weaker in the first place, Or combination thereof. Also note that I had purchased 5 from The Fish Gallery in Houston and only 1 survived. It turns out that entire shipment of theirs died from Hexamite or other fungal prob. I initially treated all them with Metro and isolated them for a month but only these 2 survived, and then 1... And while I'm at it, the parameters are far from perfect but the last discus seems to do ok. It's a CO2 infused system, water change every 2-3 weeks, nitrates don't ever go above 5 and ammonia is nil. Temp 84 F, pH gets to 7.0 while the CO2 is infusing while the lights are on but gets up to 7.8 after the lights and CO2 have been off all night. Seachem Flourish Comprehensive, Iron, and trace elements after each water change and flourish tabs every 3 months or so. Update: Nov 23, 2014: I have since put white small gravel on top of the black eco-complete and have noticed my discus lighten up significantly. It's colors are also coming in. Unfortunately, the peppering is still there but less pronounced. Live and learn. After I come back from my holiday vacation, I'll be getting Golden Sunrise, Golden, or Allenquer Reds, or something without pigeon blood in them to add to the tank. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Happy discus-ing…

I use the EHEIM Everyday Fish Feeder Programmable Automatic Food Dispenser with TetraColor Tropical Granules and occasionally drop in frozen re-hydrated blood worms/peas concoction that I made up.
