Mein Freund hat sich vor 2 Tagen ein Diskus Pärchen zugelegt. Aber da eine Tier schwamm am Anfang waagerecht. Erst jetzt richtet es sich so langsam auf. Aber sie verstecken sich noch oft. Ist das normal oder müssen wir Angst haben,dass sie nicht überleben?

thanks for Your comment. Discus are very extraordinary fish. Highly intelligent, sensitive and delicate in terms of feed and water quality. A science in itself. I recommend to read a good book about discus attitude before you buy it. The valuable animals are expensive and a loss is tragic. Good luck to you! <3

Wow - looks like a lot of dedication, but worth it, having seen the video...
Bomerwald/Sumava is an easy job - pH 5,6, zero dgH, traces of peat - not the tastiest for humans, but my fish love it!

Yes thank you, Bomerwald/Sumava would be good :-) Our water from the water line is not suitable. But I'm mixing it myself. Pure osmosis water and various additives, so it is always the same. I change every second day 1/3 of the water in the aquarium

Can you tell me what's the percentage of the r/o water you mixed with the tap water please? I used the r/o water for my breeding pair, but the ph crash and killed the male, this pair lay eggs for me 6 times but the parents eat them all, now I don't know where to find the mate.

Hi, I prepare the water entirely by myself. I do not give tap water to the breeding aquarium. I take osmosis water pure, I add corresponding salts and minerals (and a natural water purifier from the pet trade), and let the water mature under light air bubbling for about 1 week. I always reciprocate only 1/3 of the aquarium water. I check daily ph, nitrite and nitrate.

+Alenquerdiskus Danke für den freundlichen Kommentar; mehr Qualität ist nicht vorhanden, das Videomaterial stammt leider noch aus einer Zeit, wo Video quasi als Nebenprodukt zur Fotoproduktion stattgefunden hat, eigentlich wars nur zur privaten Dokumentation gedacht. Die eigentliche Produktion waren die Studiofotos und die sind selbstverständlich von bester Auflösungs-Qualität.
