Funny you mention that, I stopped by a new fish store that I usually don't go to because they have a small selection and sure enough, they had red tail botias. I'll be going back to get some I think after I get the discus.

i wouldnt do clown loaches with discus btw , discus are pussys for the most part , and clown loaches are very active fun fish , the calmer the fish you have with the discus are , the more active your discus will be , imo

Those are the ones you have right? Red Tail Botia? I never see them at the LFS around here. I'll have to ask and see if one of my LFS can get them.

soundslike you are well prepared. Looking forward to it. Look into red tail botia (blue loaches) they might look good against that sand substrate.

No that I have seen but I have gravel. I have a friend who has one in a sand tank and he said that he is just like a Pleco.

I'm sure you can keep em alive B! Unless they are wild caught they should be aquarium hardy for discus anyway. I want to keep them some time too so I'm counting on you bro! LOL

THere is a layer of Seachem Flourite Black Sand under the white stuff. that way I can plant at some point

I've checked with other people and everyone said they are OK. If not, I'll pull them out. Plenty of tanks to keep the loaches in.

Instead of loaches, get a school of any type of corydora

Tank Really is Looking Good. I would say to get some whiptail catfish cause I have one and he is helping keep the tank clean. Good Luck!!

Not sure on this but with my recent Discus purchase the guy at my LFS mentioned that loaches shouldn't be put in with Discus. He didn't explain, and I didn't ask because I don't plan on getting any loaches. Thought I'd mention it. Maybe there's some info out there. Have you decided on a type of discus?
