Yeah, that was one of my favorite fish before I got into discus. My wife had named her Annie.

I keep cardinal tetras (similar to blue neon tetras) in with one of my discus tanks and rummy nose tetras in the others. With a 120, get a large school, 15-25 or more if you want. Rummy nose school a lot closer together than cardinals or neons, but all are good

Besides the Discus, what other fish do you have in your aquarium? I have eight Discus in a 120 gallon tank and I want to give them some more tank mates but I don't know what fish are compatible with them. I see that you have neon tetras in there, but some of the others look pretty.

I'm still pretty new to discus. Only been keeping them for 3-4 months, so I'm not really comfortable giving much advice. I have kept mine with gravel since I bought the. THey were adult discus though. I think bare bottom is what people use when breading, but I'm not sure.

Would you suggest a bare bottom tank for discus initially? Bec., as I see it, your discus have been in a gravel tank from the beginning. Also, can you post a video on Discus tank maintenance? What is your minimum gallon number prescription for discus tank? And your suggestion of websites or stores for affordable fish tanks.

If anything, start off with DIY it's not as "potent" as pressurized and wont hurt your wallet. The only thing with any co2 system, is once you start, you'll want to keep up with it. Otherwise you end up with algae problems. There's a article on the facebook group on how to start a diy setup. It will definitely help your plants take off!

I'm thinking about it. I don't know anything about Co2 sytems and have been waiting to see if I can have success with the lower light, hardier plants. I'm also thinking about tearing down my 150 and making it my second planted discus tank. If I do that, I may do the Co2.
