Sounds like the pipework noise has been sorted, was it down to the difference in pump size that your using compared to what was used on the system before ?

Did you not get the ball valves/gate valves to accommodate the flow difference ?

Awe man, now I want a discus. Do you think it can make it in my 75gal community tank? It has goldfish, tetras, loaches, plecos, rainbows, catfish, and corydoras.

Go for it - though they don't tend to do well as individual fish, and prefer to be in groups of 6 as a minimum. As they are usually quite expensive, that usually makes experiments prohibitive - but there looks to be a Hawaiian Discus importer / breeded who may be willing to offer you some cheaper fish to 'try out' or at least guide you better - https://www.facebook.com/waialeale/ http://www.hawaiidiscus.com/
(I don't know this breeder - just googled) Their website might be from the 80's but they might have nice fish! :-)

Discus Newbie I live in hawaii and our average air temp is 29.4C during summer, 25.6C during winter. I think it might make it temp wise, borderline. Food should be fine as well. I think I'll try one.

Heat is going to be your main problem - Discus like it 29 - 30 degrees which some other fish will not be happy in (Rainbows, some corys, some plecos etc). A good rule of thumb for tank mates are things that like it warm, and will not out compete the Discus for food.
