How many can you fit in a 120 x 27 x 36 cm tank?

ok, thanks. The 2 I currently have love being hand fed pellets and are really playful. They are one of the fish with the best personalities

Weather loache will adapt colour to surroundings. A very simple experiment for you is to put your standard weather loache in a yellow or white, green, whatever bucket for 24 hours and they will adapt to the colour of the surrounding within a very short period. I recently completed an experiment in which my dark brown standard went to bright yellow within 24 hours, then once reintroduced back to the tank, back to brown wirhin 24 hours. Pretty amazing. And they are not playing when they chase othwr fish, they are looking to such the algae from it's skin which means ypur diet is not veg rich enough. Add various veg, but cucumber, mine love gurkins, small slices and they will hunt them out within minutes of being in the tank and suck them dry. This does make a tad more mess, but I have some 24inch tweasers and fish the crap out after a few days. They also need bloodword, as per most goldfish. The occassional frozen pea goes in there and is also a good stimulant and entertainment as an owner watching them chase it around sucking off the layers.

I'd imagine Murphy has a super sized stomach. That's amazing really. You really wouldn't want to get bit by him. I have a 100 gal stock tank with 4 goldfish in it and I want to buy one of the baby turtles. I have a 20 gal long set up with a Chinese box turtle in it so I can winter the baby indoors. I don't see the turtles on your web site.

Okie. How bout my hubby and I drive up and buy some fish and adopt a turtle? We live in Lakewood.

We don't sell turtles, it's illegal to sell this species because they never get to 4 inches.

I'll keep saying it, but UGH! I wish your store was located near me :*(
The LFS here (not a chain) couldn't care less about their freshwater stock and always let their tanks get all gross and diseased.
Lisa S
Lisa S - 6 years ago
That's exactly the reason. When we first started going there, all of their tanks looked great and healthy, but we think the freshwater guy either left or was fired and it all went downhill from there.
Aquarium Co-Op
Aquarium Co-Op - 6 years ago
That's unfortunate. My guess is they are making enough on saltwater side, they don't care about freshwater. Same reason I don't do saltwater. I'd focus so much on Freshwater that the saltwater side would look bad in comparison.

Oh I LOVE dojo Loaches. I've got 8. I had ten but two choked to death eating omega one medium goldfish pellets. too bad they are illegal here. I have to go to Washington to get them. I'm gonna get 6 more next month. they are such social fish they love playing with my fancy goldfish and digging in the playsand substrate. they remind me of those grey spotted slugs though! mine have never jumped out of my 55 and I have no cover.
Weenie Hut Jr's
Weenie Hut Jr's - 7 years ago
Aquarium Co-Op Omega one goldfish pellets don't seem to soften up. the dojos suck them into their gullet, it gets stuck and they can't get it out and die by morning. I no longer feed the fancy's that brand in that tank. even the fancy's had issues eating them, one would choke on those a few times too and go crazy trying to get it out until it did soften up enough that it could chew it and in it's distress, would attack the other fancy's. now only the big koi and pond goldfish get those pellets!
Aquarium Co-Op

209Control - 7 years ago
Thank you cory. Hopefully after training the new person you are able to get some rest. Video was great thank you for sharing. Quick question.. how long do u keep an open can of green beans in the fridge? or do you feed the entire thing at once so it doesn't spoil??
River Rockhound
River Rockhound - 6 years ago
I freeze mine in little pieces of Saran Wrap, so take 3 or 4 green beans ,wrap them up til the whole can is done and pop them in the frezeer, then when you want to use them just leave in the fridge over night, that way you'll always have them on hand and my fish love them
Aquarium Co-Op
Aquarium Co-Op - 7 years ago
+209Control I feed the entire can at once typically. At home I try tobusebitnup within 3 days and put them in a tupoerware.

Still love the content... Off topic... Will plants take meds out of the water? I used Jungle Fungus Clear which turned my water green. Everything I read said it would stay green until I use carbon and water change. This morning the water was almost back to clear only 12 hrs after adding meds...

Patrick Goncalves
Patrick Goncalves - 7 years ago
I have Gold Cloud Mountain Minnows with my Goldfish and Bristlenose Pleco. The white clouds probably should just go with the fancier type, like Orandas, Telescopes, Lion head, Ranchu, Shukin.
Patrick Goncalves
Patrick Goncalves - 7 years ago
Rosey Barbs(Comets, Hibuna, Wakin, Watonia), Gold Barbs(Ryukin, Fantails, Tomasabas)Blue Pearl Danios, Bloodfinn Tetras(Oranda, Telescopes, Lionhead, Shukin, Ranchu, Lionchu) all do good with various goldfish too.

Dumb question, but how are you able to keep the guppies and a betta together?
Knightmare6
Knightmare6 - 7 years ago
Different personalities for bettas. I have a male with fancy guppies, and they get along. Occasionally there's flaring during feeding, but I have plenty of plants in the tank and that helped diffuse the aggression after a few days or so. Just keep an eye out for a week to see if there's any issues.

Similar situation with my other betta in my larger tank, where there's plenty of platies and swordtails. I had tns of driftwood there and plants to break-up the eye-line/line of sight.

However I do have one that is just aggressive and had to be put by himself, as he was extremely territorial.
L. O.
L. O. - 7 years ago
Brandi Jordan The guppies and Male Bettas doesn't work well. Females Bettas, no problem. The males fight the guppies because of the long fins, that looks like other male betta.
