Fish Room Update - How to Build a Fish Tank Stand

Hello Fish Keepers! I built all of the stands on the newer side of the fish room. As we transform the other side of the fish room I wanted to build the stands for those tanks too. Building your own stand allows you to customize it to fit your needs. Since I don't like having to sit on the floor to see tanks on the lower level and I'm also not fond of having to bend over to see fish on the upper level, I make stands that are comfortable to see either sitting in a chair and/or standing. The build is not original to me, but what you see here includes some helpful tips I wish I had known before I started building stands. The same design can be used for just about any 4ft and under tank and even for 6ft tanks if larger board sizes are used. Looks. Check out Dado Joints- probably a matter of preference, but a nice option to cut down on some wood.  Saw it on Ted Fishroom  and I tried it- worked good for me.

Ya, I saw that video too. Very cool. I went with this design because it's easier to do. You are right though, dado joints use less wood and less space!
