Overstocking as we all know stresses the fish, it also makes it much more costly and time consuming with w/c's. I love my Oscar very much, shes been with me since she was 1",,, I would never put her thru any kind of stress. Technically a 180g with sump could take 3 or 4 Oscars maybe, but its way too late for that now. Tnx for you comment mate.

The 180g with the current bioload is fantastic,,, I could give the Oscar some heavy feedings and not really put a strain in the nitrate production. The way it is now I can do a 10 to 20% a week w/c to keep things in check, water where I live now costs almost as much as keeping the power on so until my water tank installation is complete, this stocking lvl for the 180 will remain as is. The system holds nearly 800 litres, don't really want to waste half of that each week if I can help it.
As for the Discus tank, I need to grow these guys first before any more fish are to be added. I do have a tad more room for bioload but not much but I do like the idea of tapajos or some other geophagus species, this move will be at least 6 months off yet. Thanks for watching.
