I use ph down for pools 1/4 teaspoon per gallon
I use this diluted I add slowly over time to get perfect ph needed

Very good information! Would you mind to suggest a good device to measure PH? I use API PH test kits in the past but the results are all over the place. Very unreliable. I also tried different digital PH pens and pinpoint monitors but most of them only work well for a little while and quit.

Negative. It's only a way to lower the pH not to soften or remove trace elements.

Get one giant holding tank. We have two 550 gallons at the hatchery. Or do only 20% and clean three tanks per day. Make the best of what you have.
