+D. C. i don't think any "activity" occurs between two female fish, I'm not a fish expert but I know that some birds can lay eggs without a male, the egg is just a shell with no baby inside. It might be the same with fish where the females are simply producing dudd eggs maybe as preparation for childbearing, i don't really know the reason behind it.

with the discus when they get darker eyes i read thats when they are stressed. could that stress also come from breeding aggression or breeding stress or something?

If you want a breeding pair it is because you want fry, you want fry because you want to sell them and make money. Where else can you spend $550 on something that can immediately produce thousands of dollars worth of fry. When you look at it that way a breeding pair is actually cheap. Unless you wana buy junk.

Dude your letting those eggs go to waste!!!! You need to hit up Hans and get a male pronto!!! Look at it as an investment, they have babies, you sell the babies, you get your money back from the fish. Everyone wins:-)
