hey Dustin any tips acclimating fish from low pH to semi higher pH because the pet store I get my fish is always very acidic I dnt want keep losing clown loaches and fish that I buy because I done method u said on your video so if pH 6.0 but the tank in my home is always 7.5 so how long I should take to slowly get them used to my tank

Dustin, I do not like the way you net your fish. Is it not better to 'fish' them out of the bag one at a time rather than straining the water with the net like you did when you poured the bag through the net, catching all of the crud in the net? It just seems like a back to front method you have there. I like the way you acclimatise them though, good job.

Aqueon and fluval are topnotch. But I have gotten used heaters and generic brand heaters that work excellent. Hang on heaters Suck. My buddy used a hang on heater for his discus, and they boiled at 103 degrees. The truest thing on heaters is to not have them plugged in and out of tank.

Jager heaters rock! i use em all my tanks and service calls. When they fail they just stop working rather than cooking all your fish. Keeping in mind my 150W heater in my is 9 years old and still working perfectly.

What I like to do when taking goldfish out of the bag is after they acclimate, get a small bowl of tank water with stress coat and cover my hands in it then just lift the fish out of the bad and in the tank. Less stressful in my opinion.

Cool video as usual and good for you for keeping it real on the dirty tanks. All fishkeepers get too busy to keep their tanks spotless sometimes. As long as the fish are healthy and the water perimeters are good, it's fine.

subscribed, you have an awesome personality, set up, and tips. the problem with my LFS is that they are jews with the water they put in the bag of your new fish so theres barely anything and i just put them in a plastic container with a lid, float em, quickly transfer a small bit of old tank water. wait 20mins or so and try to tip the plastic container over a sink to catch some poop, put a bit more old tank in there and keep going till i have all old tank water and zero poop

cheaper to heat the whole green house with a space heater. heat the GH to at least 75 and that should help keep your tanks around 65-70. raise the gh to higher temps to maintain higher tank temps.

Hey Dustin, so I dirted my tank and dont gravel vac the substrate. I put fish in the other month and now have cloudy water (bacterial bloom) probably from over feeding. The food sits on the floor and decays. I got cory catfish to help out with the floor but water changes dont help and Im reading the bloom will only go away with time as good bacteria is still growing from the tank cycling. Does this sound right? Any tips or help?? Thanks.

I use Ehiem heater. I mean what can i say? Works well, heats tank, mines still working, ability to calibrate it (instructions SUCK, so i made a post on how to calibrate it on plantedtank). Depends on price though. It was not the cheapest there.

Fluval E series. they are digital with lcd display and have a micro processor so they always stay on just not full blast unless needed. the temp barely fluctuates. 300 watt is like $60 got my 200 watts for $40. they are great.
