in this planted tank, u still using CO2?
does using Co2 make the PH Swing and the arowana became stressful?

can you list down every equipment on how you make this tank?

been planning to do 1, but scared of the investment

Jimmy Tan, yes, I'm still using CO2. The arowana is not stressed by the pH swings. Make sure the water has at least 2dKH of buffer to minimise the pH swing due to CO2.

Suhail Hassan it's white Oyama, but I did not stick it on. Only using binder clips to hold it up. I wanted the option to change as and when. Disadvantage is that if the glass gets dirty on the outside, it's very difficult to clean.

It gets really aggressive. from what I've read it's the most aggressive species. But I want it to be in a community tank like one of your reds.

Red arowanas should be tanned, to develop the red coloration. So Red arowanas go with planted tanks quite well.

How big is the tank in that video? Asian arowanas can get to 2 feet and larger. They will reach about 18 inches at about 2 to 3 years old. Personally, I wouldn't put them in a tank smaller then 6' x 2' x 2'.

If you put an arowana in that tank, be prepared that it may try to eat your other fishes. If the tank is too small, your other fishes may not have enough space to keep a healthy distance from the arowana. Slower fishes will be eaten. Fishes that are used to sleeping in the open or hanging around the surface (like the half beaks) will be easy targets. Your guppy with the fancy tail may not be agile enough to dodge the arowana. Your ram (I think I saw one) will be hiding a lot or be very stressed as they are not typically very active swimmers (not as active as the other fishes).

This is my second aro in a planted tank. The previous one wasn't as aggressive at hunting down tank mates. This one is much more. I think it is either the inherent characteristic or the diet. Previous was fed market prawns, this one gets pellets.

For planned tank mates, need to get fishes that are either too big, too fast or too hidden to eat.

Hi Apiz 85. Sorry for the late reply.I don't usually monitor comments on Youtube. It is a 6x2x2 by N30. Only minor customisations: single centre cross brace (instead of double cross braces) and raised lower intake for higher substrate. The drain pipe is taller to reduce water agitation at the overflow and a submersed drain pipe outlet. Tell Neo that you intend to use it for planted tank and he will ask you the relevant questions for customisation.
