Great video!!!!! I would recommend storing water in glass, not plastic, because most plastics leech hormone-like chemicals that have estrogen-like activity, even plastics that are deemed food safe and BPA-free. Use a spare aquarium or source some huge 14 gallon glass demijohns from the home brewing trade to store water (spare tank is cheaper than many demijohns, though). If you want to store water in plastic anyway, fill the containers and allow heated water to sit for at least a month, then discard that initial water, refill and use that 2nd if not 3rd batch for your tank(s). Great video and beautiful fish!!! I simply double dose Seachem Prime during water changes because my tap water has a stable pH.

I love Discus but I'm afraid to by some for my 220 gallon tank because if there are fry I have nobody to sell them to. I refuse to kill fish just because I can't find a home.

I'm be surprised it's you get baby discus. It's easy to keep them, but getting babies out of them, its a whole different ball game, and something you shouldn't worry about.

hi Gab, maybe you can help...one of my discuss stop eating in the last 5 days, previously always aggressive eating. Does not seems sick.....still active swimming/moving around, still showing some aggression towards other discuss who try to get closer. I have tried few different food still can not get him to eat

Hey Gabe, I thought it was old black worms (ie not California blackworms) back in the day and also tubifex worms that caused hex in discus. Never knew frozen bloodworms were a problem? I’ve been feeding them for years to my discus and Altums along with brine shrimp and white worms I raise. Are you positive about this?
