How long did it take your new discus to start eating? I got some today 11/17/17 but they are not eating yet. I have blood worms that they have been eating at the Local petland that I got them from.

Please can you do a discus care video because if I get 90% or over on my SATS (I think I will not to sound vain or anything! Also I find out in late June/early July) and my mum said at first get a fish so she said no tropical fish but then she said ok then get a tropical fish so I would've got a cow fish but I feel like it'd be unfair on the fish seeing as I'm not experienced I just have goldfish with my dad and I've heard discus are good. I know a bit about discus I just wanna know more. Also please could you put the link to the place you got the fish from? Thanks!! Bye!

How long should a tank be up and running/cycled ect before adding discus?

I cycle my tanks for about a month. I usually have a group of tetras that I can use with a pleco to cycle the water. I run the filter and the heater and any other equipment the whole time to ensure the right temperature and quality of water is attained.

Nice fish there. I once had a tank of discus and introduced an oscar of about 4 inches. The discus killed him in under 10 minutes. I will never have discus again.

What size is your tank? Also, how many discus could I put in a 180 litre (45 gallon) tank?

+Robert Reid My tank is a 150 gallon. If you are looking to try discus, I would start with a minimum of a 75 gal tank.

Interesting to see your acclimation process. Some fish you just want to get them out of their shipping water as quick as possible. I have not seen anyone float bags and then drip acclimate too for a while. Seems like the fish tolerated it all very well though. Beautiful fish I hope you enjoy them for a long time to come. Jack

Nice Brian! I like the tank setup and the combo of discus. Couldn't tell if those were Neons or Cardinals.

With you being in the Mid-West I don't guess it matters but I'm on the East Coast. The only person I've dealt with is Hans Discus out of Maryland. Great fish and he is great to deal with.
