Large Bichir Eating Fish - Feeding on Guppies

I put my two bichirs in my guppy tank and they’re feeding like crazy. Not sure if this would work, the easiest may be if you get a sponge/foam and cut it thin enough to wedge in along the edges? Or make a template of the one you have and cut a piece that fits behind. A long bubbler on either side would also keep him from going behind it. I'll try and think of some other diy's, but those may work. You lfs should have something. I cut apart a fluval sponge I got from petco, but if you have a local aquarium store, they have more options. Mine does, but Petco is on my errands route. If it’s up on the side, is too high. My boy anoints everything. The idea is to give them options. I think a big leaf silk plant or two would work. I find bridges are fun for them. You can buy or make one out of rocks. Items with holes they can swim through, around. You can definitely fit a bio sponge filter in your tank. It can also take the place of a bubbler. Yeah fake plants are a no no when it comes to bettas.. I’d take out all the plastic plants maybe replace them with snail free real ones and do some treatments. Honestly it’s taking my betta forever to get his beautiful fins back. Bichir feeding in a 75 gallon aquarium. They are saying silk plants are ok. But haven't seen silk plants in the Philippines. Some lfs used slices garbage bags for fish to hide. Might try it. Just wanted to thank everyone again for the suggestions. I removed the fake plant and stuck a Pothos in there and she is enjoying swimming through the roots. I think now that the roots are in there she is not interested as much in wedging herself behind the filter. I'm still working on blocking that off though just in case. Wow that’s a massive catfish! I have two. The largest is about 6 inches - last time I saw her anyway which was about a month ago lol she likes to hide. WOW that’s a good looking catfish though! Thank god I have a big tank !!!! I knew they got big I didn’t know that big though! I'm glad i saw this. Someone in my local group is selling them and green phantoms. I bought a couple of the green phantoms and he tried to sell me the Raphael. I didn't buy it as i hadn't researched it. No i know. Lol Son of a....!!! I don't know what this worm is but it's the only fish I've seen with it (already euthanized because it was very thin, small, and weak). Do I need to treat the tank and what meds if I do? Pic in comments, it's gross. It's callamanus worms, it won't go away you will need to do full treatment of whole tank with levimasol. My tank had this, even if they don't show signs doesn't mean they don't have it. The worms can live in the substrate for 3 weeks before hatching and being ingested then repeat the cycle. The worms appear from the fish to release eggs. I think they will be. Sometimes people lower the dose just in case. I don't know about investable vs water treatment and its effectiveness, but anything will help vs not. Otherwise the worms will just keep coming back. Dissolve 3cc of Panacur granules in 100ml of frozen bloodworms in water for 30 mins. Feed 2 x daily for 2 days in a row. Repeat in 14 days. Be sure to fast the fish first - no food for 3-4 days to be sure they eat the medicated food. I had an experience with this. I lost 90% of all my fish in 3 tanks (10, 25, and 90) as I used the same equipment for cleaning and stuff in all, including my Discus, some rare Transvestite cichlids, and some baby angelfish I had raised to maturity. Anything that will be strong enough to kill the camallanus may kill your inverts, but the alternative will be everything dies. Aquarium Bichir feeding Bichir food Large Bichir aquarium

I'm not sure Bichirs have poor eye sight. It's a common thing passed around the internet because they rely more on their sense of smell than vision. My Bichir will see me coming from across the room and beg for food. He is actually very interactive. Mine is also very active in my 75 gallon. Thanks for the video. Cheers.
