Hey man, love your tank, looking to do another tank with discus in it, I'm running 7 tanks right now, 3 planted with d.I.y. CO2. My big question, is I've been doing home made backgrounds, expanding foam, driftwood, corals, things of that nature... but your background... it's... it's resplendent!!! How did you make it, or is it purchased? I love it and if I could get something even half as gorgeous it would put my tanks at a whole new level!

No, angels and tetras in the deep tank (36" depth 60gal) which I'm gonna do the discus in after I'm done with set up.The 40 and 60 standards have mixes of sirens, kribs, espi rasboras, rose line barbs and paddle tail newts, one strictly cichlid tank, and a 20 gallon hexagonal sea horse tank that I'm just getting started on!

Ok cool. It isn't set up yet. I have mbuna fry in it now, but once they grow out & are sold, I'll be ready to plant. So im doing some research & planning.

What have you got in your tank at the moment? I would recommend having at least 3 to 4 inches of sand where possible, to give your plants roots more space to grow down into

+Discus Fish UK thats sweet. I know I want black in my tank as substrate but I was worried about feeding my plants. Im doing up a 55 planted discus tank. I was looking for ideas cuz I love the look yours have.

+Maurice Mccomie I have clay/peat balls under the sand which help feed the plants in the sand and works really well. They last 2 to 3 months and I get new leaves every other week or so

Thanks Maurice, i'm running the tank with black sand at the moment which help the discus colours stand out even more!
