Great video !! Great audio !! The discus with the cardinals with a planted background...DYNAMITE !!
But life's too short to be to be killing yourself with water changes. As others have said below, there are
various degrees of autochanges you could employ...although I'm sure you have streamlined your techniques. One suggestion, I've been in the hobby for 70 years, literally, and I've yet to overcome my
obsession with overstocking and overfeeding. Yes, I know that makes me a bad person. But having had virtually everthing...except mudskippers...the fish seem to do well with 50% changes once a week.

You should have a 40 Gallon Betta Sorority... You may have to breed a pair of Betta as it's easier to keep sisters together.

Sounds like you are stressed about the amount of work that you do on your fish and aquariums it is good to reduce number of tanks and fish that you consistently spawn since you are getting into rainforest fish it may be more challenging to find some egg layer that may be more easier to breed although you may have to invest into a reverse osmosis unit depending upon your water supply in your area. Fish keeping is always a challenge even when you work in the industry. Remember the more tanks the more time it takes to change water … it is not always about the money invested but the time ….

dang, it shucks that 6th st store dont give away unwanted snails i would say keep a full 40g tank of puffers since theyre friendly to people but too expensive...

Man that is some heavy heavy peppering on the pigeons - I’d say pop them in a tank with a lighter background to reduce that. They also have very narrow foreheads - try some medicated food and beefeheart 3 times a day. Looking at them I’d say they are a lot older than they look and maybe stunted - completely reversible with some medicated food.

Sound like good plans. If a fish room isn't fun, it's probably not worth doing. Beautiful discus, and they go well with cardinals. What temp are you keeping them at?

Your new discus are beautiful. The hobby should be fun. Do what makes you happy and that will come across in your videos. Personally, I am glad you are mixing it up a bit. My favorite videos of yours are not your Africans. It's the Oscars and the mudskippers. Well, I do love the shellies. I have 3 different species of shell dweller myself.

I totally agree with your move. The world does not need another mbuna breeder. I think it would be a great idea to get the similis shellies and breed both. You obviously have a way with Shellies, and the similis are very hard to find--and I think I'm more striking fish! Also, in terms of your videos it would be nice to hear from someone who keeps both species about the similarities and differences in them.

Great Video. Always enjoy watching your channel. How about breeding some red eye hi-fin (cauliflower) red albino swordtails? I know they are a unique swordtail and I think these would make a great addition to what you are trying to do i.e. less work and more fun in breeding select fish. Plus, these are more of a high-end live bearer so it should get you a fair price when selling or trading them in. You don't see these around much and currently it seems like the only breeders to get them from actually import them right from China. I just happened to get mine from a guy at one of our local fish club auctions. Very nice deep red and gorgeous fish. Check them out when you get a chance. I'd be curious to see what you think about them. Keep up the good work.

Suggestion for a 40: heavily planted platie tank. Not hard to maintain and lots of color and fun. Throw a single Angel in there and you won't have to worry about the population.

Time to broaden you're horizons. I like it. I always like the idea of biotope style aquariums. Trying to recreate nature with the correct species of fish and plants is a cool challenge and I think benefits the ecosystem. You could do an Amazon blackwater tank with apistos, cories, tetras, and some plecos. A planted tank with one species of Rainbowfish would be awesome too. Just one big school. Oh and the audio sounded great. Look forward to see where the fish room goes!

Hmmm new fish you could try... Maybe a few different apistogramma species. Not difficult to breed and bring decent $$$. Maybe german blue rams, geophagus. LRB has really got me wanting to mess around with killifish

I love the new direction for the fishroom! The hobby should be fun! And as a viewer, I'd much rather see a few 40 gallon tanks with varied fish and aquascapes, than a large group of 10 gallons with just fry.
