Well, regarding the "snakeskin" aro which you've purchased, that piece should be another variety of green arowana originating from 'nami lake' here in malaysia. You can google it. We call it nami green.hope you've got the authentic one ,as the adult snakeskin are superb looking arowanas.

When I was talking about aggressive fish I was thinking about Frank in particular and how he's had a tank set up for him and will be in a new one due to being a fan favourite. Lots of people keep talking about adding an Oscar to the gallery, if Joey was going to do this he would know how to handle a potentially aggressive fish and set a good tank up for one.

I’m curious about the fat removal from the first fish’ eye tho. It is a difficult procedure and I’m not sure if you are qualified enough to do that properly. No offense, just curiosity.

On the topic of drop eye, I had a silver that got it and my work switched me to night shift for 4 months. (I’m going somewhere with this, I promise!) so I covered the tank (120 tall) because it was in my room and I needed to sleep. So I hung a comforter from the canopy the whole 4 months so I couldn’t see in, and the fish couldn’t see out. After 4 months, his drop eye was COMPLETELY GONE!!!
I know drop eye is not too pinpointed on a cause but I think him not being able to look down helped a lot. Just an idea, maybe you can do something similar on a quarantine tank for the time being and see if it helps. But if looking down is truly a cause, I think it will help that your arowana is going from the top rack, to a giant tank on the floor.

I tend to have a special place for the odd ball animals that may not be totally perfect. They need love too!

For example the little rasbora H. somphongsii was considered extinct! However they are available in the USA ( Rachel Oleary has some)
If you really want to put all 3 arowana in 1 tank.... its not worth the risk. But If you really must then get more than 6. I have seen 7 or 9 asian arowana in the fish shop display before ...ALL RED!!!
(the emerald green snake skin one is the best) has green around its eyes already! got a new favourite.
Was expecting you to get a arowana that was the same type as buddy.
Plus you know that Joeys going to have a set of arowana fan club factions on his hands now arguing over which is the best and if any can truly challenge the mighty frank
